I'm at home for my 96 hours of freedom. Some guys planned on staying in Fayetteville, others are traveling to Myrtle Beach. Myself I plan on relaxing in the best place in the world...my own bed with my wife. I've been home for a whole day and it's been wonderful. Here's a pic of just getting ready to leave back for the FOB. The 'stache is gone now but this a pic of it in full effect. Here's another pic of me with my vehicle that I was driving for convoy ops training and someone in the back is throwing up "the shocker".

Pics from the send off

Here are some pictures of CT State Troopers escorting us the the state line and one of some of the guys in my squad. We were getting ready for a platoon attack on a small compound. I'm on the far right with the push broom under my nose.

1300 -1600

Cool I get just about have a four hours to shop and use the internet. It costs $3.95 per hour or $9.95 for 24 hours (not that I would have an entire day to spend in a mini-mall with wifi access. I bought a desert sand riggers belt, sunglasses and another copy of the ranger's handbook ( I seem to lose all mine, 3rd copy)
I would like to thank my extended family in Oklahoma for the items they sent to me. Everyone is enthralled with the ghillie hood and I'm amazed that my friend can sew, and the sling is on my rifle (the ones they issued us have so many clips and straps this one is totally easy to use). My time here is ticking so slow but in a less than a few weeks, I will be able to see my beautiful wife again. which brings me to the picture above. I was looking through the pics in my laptop and found this one, it was from our road trip to Chicago, its my new favorite one and is the background to my 'puter. Take that Holly you can't stop me... ha.
We just got done with all our validations now we have to help train the PRT (Provincial Reconstruction Teams) who are made up of Navy, Air Force and Army. I found out that we will go back to my favorite place the FOB for 4 days. I just hope that the weather gets really nice, I mean its not febuary anymore.
